(CNN) – Christina Applegate celebrates a milestone on her birthday after revealing her diagnose Multiple sclerosis in August.
Applegate celebrated its 50th birthday on Thanksgiving with a message to its fans on Twitter. “Yes. Today I am 50. I have MS. It has been difficult,” he wrote.
“Sending so much love to all of you today,” Applegate continued. “Many are suffering today, and I’m thinking of you. May we find that strength to lift our heads. Currently mine is on my pillow. But I’m trying.”
The multiple sclerosis It affects the central nervous system. It is an autoimmune disease in which the immune system attacks its own healthy cells. It affects the quality of life and can lead to disability.
In her announcement earlier this year, the actress, known for her roles in “Bad Moms,” “Married… with Children” and “Dead to Me,” said living with the disease was not easy.
“But I’ve had so much support from people that I know they also have this condition,” Applegate said. It was a difficult road. But as we all know, the road goes on.
There is no cure for multiple sclerosis, commonly known as MS, but many people are able to control their symptoms and adapt to new lifestyles after diagnosis.
Researchers believe the disease is caused by both environmental and genetic factors, but the underlying cause is unknown.
